Back in colonial days, a favorite Boston food was beans baked in molasses for several hours. Back then, Boston was sort of awash in molasses – it was part of the “triangular trade” in which slaves in the Caribbean grew sugar cane to be shipped to Boston to be made into rum to be sent to West Africa to buy more slaves to send to the West Indies. Even after the end of this practice, Boston continued as big rum producing city – the Great Molasses Flood of 1919 (which killed 21), ocurred when a tank holding molasses for rum production exploded.Today, Boston baked beans are something of a rarity – there are no companies in the city making it and only a few restaurants serve it.

One of the greatest benefits to owning an Boston condo is the multiple uses. For instance, a large number of Boston condo owners choose to reside full time inside their condos, but other only use them when they regularly travel to the Orland area, whether that travel is for business or for pleasure. Should you choose to buy an Boston condo, you can use it as however you see fit. Essentially, this means that whether you would like to live in your Orland condo year round or only on occasion, it is your right to do so.

Another one of the many benefits to owning an Boston condo is the selection that you have to choose from. Boston condos come in all different sizes, shapes, and styles. In fact, in the Boston area, there are a large number of condo complexes, which each hold numerous condo units. Whether you are looking for a condo that has one bedroom or four of them, you should be able to find at least one condo in the Boston area that can give you what you need.

In keeping with the above mentioned benefit of choice, you also have a choice when it comes to deciding where in Boston you would like to buy a condo. As it was previously mentioned, condo complexes can be found all over the city of Boston. If you are looking to live in Boston fulltime, you may want to find an Boston condo that is located close to your place of business. Should you only be interested in visiting Boston while on a vacation or even if you are looking to retire in an Boston condo, it may be a good idea to examine local activities or attractions that you would be interested in participating in or visiting. A conveniently located condo is one of the best ones to have.

Cost is another benefit to buying an Boston condo. While many individuals consider the cost of condos, including Boston condos, to be quite high, it is important to remember what you are getting. It has been said that condos represent a combination of a house and an apartment. They have many of the rooms that a traditional home would have, but they are compact like many apartments are. For that reason, you will find that many Boston condo prices are consistent with the average selling prices of homes in the area. When compared to renting an Boston apartment, you may very well find yourself saving money, overtime, with the purchase of an Boston condo.

Are you planning a visit to Boston and wondering what to do for fun at night in Boston? Participating in the local nightlife scene can be a lot of fun when you travel to a new city, but figuring out where the locals go isn’t always easy. Here are 6 of the best Boston nightlife options for you to consider.

1. Begin with a drink and dinner at one of Boston’s restaurants such as Radius or Jacob Wirth. Because so many people live and work right in the city, Boston restaurants are a big part of the Boston nightlife scene and tend to be full every night of the week. With a lot of fabulous chef-owned restaurants and bistros, casual eateries, and even splurge restaurants to sample, Boston foodies often start their evening with a great meal. You can find terrific restaurants in all prices ranges and with all types of cuisines in every part of the city.

2. Spend part of your evening at one of the many Boston comedy club such as the Boston Comedy Connection at the Wilbur Theatre. You’ll have your choice of stand-up, improv, ensembles, open mic, and other formats. You can also find national headliners as well as local talent. Catching a show or two at a comedy club is a popular Boston nightlife option. Although some comedy clubs are strictly 21+, others offer at least some family-friendly shows, especially during early evening hours.

3. Or, spend the evening at the movies. In addition to a few theaters that show first-run movies such as the Loew’s Boston Common, you’ll find lots of other theaters and other venues for watching foreign language, indie, classic, experimental, and other film genres. If you’re a movie buff, going to the cinema may become your favorite Boston nightlife activity.

4. Or, catch a show at a Boston theater such as the Charles Playhouse or the Schubert Theatre. You can see everything from Broadway musicals to Shakespeare to cutting edge theater in Boston’s many theater venues. Most of the theaters are located in Boston’s downtown Theatre District. Boston is fortunate to have a wealth of theater choices on every night of the week. A favorite evening agenda in Boston includes going for drinks and dinner, catching a show, and then continuing on for perhaps more drinks and dancing.

5. Stop by one of the many Boston bars. If you’re interested in exploring Boston nightlife, you’ll probably end up in one (or more) of our popular bars, where a lot of Boston locals have fun at night in the city. You’ll find everything from great sports bars such as Games On! where you can enjoy a drink and food surrounded by big screens to historic taverns such as the Green Dragon Inn where the Sons of Liberty hatched their plans for a revolution to cozy Irish pubs.

6. End your evening at one of Boston’s dance clubs – Where do you go toward the end of the evening? That’s easy – a dance club such as An Tua Nua. Boston has a wide range of choices from casual to dress, all featuring DJs and every kind of music that you can imagine. Most of these popular Boston nightlife spots get going around 11pm – and then close at 2am after last call.

Boston is one of the oldest cities in the US and has a phenomenal number of office spaces suitable for almost any kind of business. Given the current economic climate, many office space developments have been shelved until developers can secure the much-needed funds they require from recession marred banks. This means work spaces have become scarce and expensive in illustrious areas, such as Beacon Hill and Louisberg Square, but there is light at the end of the tunnel.

A recent upturn in the property market and the clever-thinking of landlords who have begun to introduce incentives and property pricing plans means that prime office space will be on the increase soon. Plus the plethora of choices means there’s an ideal space for businesses of different calibres, sizes and localities to thrive in.

ull pen offices are available for firms who require a high level of communication and collaboration with colleagues and clients. Media companies and advertising executives often see the beauty of such spaces, which promote interpersonal contact and a team spirit amongst staff.

Cubicle space is the traditional office floor plan that still carries much weight with the majority of spaces across the Boston area. Cubicles allow each staff member to have a private space where they can work independently without interruption from nearby colleagues. This type of space often suits companies where a high level of concentration is the order of the day, such as accountancy firms who deal with complicated mathematical material.

Grade A and B office space is up for grabs in a magnitude of property portfolios throughout the Boston district as well. These spaces come fully serviced with furnishings, lighting, work stations and access to kitchen and bathroom facilities. The upside is that the move into the space is hassle-free; there’s no problematic ordering of furniture, arranging internet connections and fitting communication devices, such as video conferencing facilities. The all-in-one work area is a grand office space to take up if you want to start work fast and continue at a furious pace.

Whether you are visiting this city for the first time, the tenth time or if you are a local resident, there is always something to do.
A couple of factors to first consider are the time of year you are visiting, the weather, and the age of other travelers with you. Most activities listed are open year round. However, some of the activities that involve water may be closed for part of the winter, and if open may be a bit chilly for some.
Here are arguably the top 10 tourist attractions in Boston.

1. Duck Tour
This tour takes you around the city in a land and water vehicle. You will learn interesting facts about the city as your guide drives you around town. Then, you see Boston from an entirely different perspective as your vehicle floats into the Charles River.

2. New England Aquarium
Visit marine life in many forms at this great aquarium. There is lots to see and do for all ages here.

3. Whale Watching
There a few companies that offer whale watches (one is through the aquarium). Most all companies guarantee that you will see whales or they will give you a free ticket to come back for another try.

4. Walk the Freedom Trail
Take a step back in time and learn about the people and places that made Boston famous in the American Revolution. You can take a self guided tour with a Freedom Trail map or you can find many different, knowledgeable guides who will take you on a guided tour.

5. Visit Faneuil Hall
This old, historic marketplace was a gathering place for many politicians and colonists back in the day. Now, you can visit the marketplace and stroll around the surrounding stores. You will find many local street performers in and around the area. You will also find great food, fun and souvenirs here.

6. Eat in the North End
This area is one of Boston’s biggest Italian neighborhoods. The restaurants and atmosphere are wonderful.

7. Ride The Swan Boats
These boats are found in Boston Common and grace the waters of the area. Anyone who has read Trumpet of the Swan will be familiar with these boats.

8. The Museum of Science
This museum has some incredible exhibits. Visitors of any age will enjoy learning something new about planets, gravity or electricity- to name a few- at this hands on museum. The museum also has an IMAX theater.

9. Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum
This museum boasts the art collection of Ms. Gardner. She was one of Boston’s well to do residents in the 1800s and was friendly with John Singer Sargent, the painter. You will find some of his work as well as that of famous European artists there. The Italian architecture of both the courtyard and museum are beautiful

10. Visit Newbury Street
This area has some of the best Boston shopping. You can stroll throughout this street and some of the surrounding streets for great fashion, accessories and home accents.

Certainly, with the many things to do in this city, there is a Boston attraction or Boston event for everyone.
